Today was the first day I received a call from this company; they left a message on my cell phone. My neighbor called me tonight to indicate that they also called her, asking for information about me, and saying they were trying to leave messages but had no way to do so (they did so today). I believe they may have illegally attained my cell phone #. I called back and left a message. What should I know?

Received a letter from this company claiming that I owe a payday loan company over $1100. When I asked for a validation letter they claimed they provided it back in April (did not) and would not resend. Asked the amount of the original loan $255 claims the rest is interest and fees. Not collectible in California.

Ms.
I received a letter from Sentinel....it says I owe over $2000.00 to an online company Money and More...I called and asked what this was and was told money was deposited to my account over two years ago in the amount of $255 and had grown to the 2000 amt...they want me to send my checking account statement to prove it wasn't deposited. Why do they want my account statement? They didn't even have my first name....I keep my statements for 5 yrs. and this account was closed two years ago...I asked for proof of this debt and he said they couldn't provide that....what does all this mean. He threatened to attach my SS income if I didn't pay. I don't receive SS or any govt. check....

Mr.
I got a generic recorded message from them and have not and will not call them back based on the comments here. It definitely sounds like a scam! I owe no one money! I did a credit check and I'm curious if that's where they got my contact info.

Mr. Richard Benning called to say he represented a legal firm called something like "Eastern-Western" and that there was a warrant for my son for check fraud, but that Richard was authorized to settle this before it went to court. Once my son and I were both on the phone, it turned out that the check fraud was that my son was unable to pay the check he had written when he had taken out a loan from Advance America over 2 years ago. Richard was very convincing on the phone, but after the call I remembered that I had supposedly settled this loan a year ago. With the advice of my bank I put a hold on the transaction and then checked my son's credit report, which does not mention any uncollected debt to Advance America.
