435 F. Supp. 2d1004 (N.D. Cal. 2006). Consumer sent a cease and desist letter to the original creditor. Since this action does not legally stop all calls from the debt collection agency, the collectorÕs repeated calls did not violate the FDCPA.

2006 U.S. Dist.LEXIS 55406 (N.D. Cal. July 27, 2006) (unpublished). Collection law firm was denied a summary judgment because they did not clearly state their attorney fees in the collection letters. The court found this to be deceptive and misleading to consumers.

Harrasment
I had a judgment (from ex-husband's use of my name) through W&A. I paid it off a couple of years ago and now W&A is reporting this one judgment two times on my credit report using two different account numbers. One says paid and the other unpaid. I am having trouble having this incorrect information removed from my credit report.

What can I do?
I am in the process of buying a house and mortgage companies keep telling me that W&A are still reporting on my credit report every month although it has been paid off in April of 2007.

i paid off a debt in 2006 and other debt collectors are trying to sue me for the same debt..i contacted W&A and they said that the account was paid in full so i asked for a release letter and that was a month ago and i am still waiting. what can i do to get this off my credit report

I had a judgement with this company and a garnishment filed against me . I filed bankrupcy and was due money back from this company the took too much monies . The company most recently went out of business I made several calls to this company all phone numbers have been disconnected . I have no way of getting in touch with these people .

Invalid Liens
W & A are reporting liens on my property linking me to an account for collections that's not even mines from a company i never did any business with (wasn't even living in the state at that time). Trying to clear it up and none of the numbers for W & A are working. One even hung up on me after recording played. Can i get some help with this please?

This company filed a lien against my home in Texas. I was never notified of this and found out about it when I tried to refinance my home.
