Credit Report Rights
Getting errors removed from your credit report is definitely not easy. But do not be discouraged, you can get help. Also there are laws in place to help you- the consumer. The Fair Credit Reporting Act was put in place to protect you as a consumer, to make sure that your credit reports are free of mistakes, if there are mistakes the consumer should be able to dispute and have those errors removed, and to be sure that your credit report and credit history does not get into the hands of the wrong people.
If these credit reporting agencies do not follow the laws put in place, they could be liable for damages. Our agency can help you determine if a credit reporting agency performed any violations that you could profit from.
Free Credit Report
You have the right to view your credit report annually for free. It is your responsibility to monitor your information and to dispute any mistakes or errors you spot. No one else will do this for you. Errors can be very costly, so it is important to make sure your credit reports are clean.
A credit reporting agency must remove a dispute if it is not verified within 30 days. If after disputing, you still see the error on the report, you may need an attorney to help.
