CoreLogic Credco Consumer Reports

Denied Refinancing or a Home Loan Due to CoreLogic CredCo or CreditIQ Report Errors?

Who is Credco?

You may see an inquiry on your credit report from Credco if you have recently applied for a mortgage or refinancing on your home. Mortgage Lenders use CoreLogic Credo to obtain a merged credit report from the three large credit bureaus Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. Some Credco reports also contain information from their own databases.

Credco Inquiry on Credit Report

If you see an inquiry on your credit report from Credco and you have not been working with mortgage lender, you can dispute the inquiry with the credit reporting agency. Hard inquiries on your credit report can affect your credit score, do not let inquiries that shouldn’t be on your credit report go undisputed. I could cost you in higher insurance premiums and higher interest rates.

If the Credco inquiry is legitimate, make sure the report is as well. Errors reported on a CoreLogic Credco merged credit report or a CoreLogic Credco CreditIQ report can be damaging. They could result in denial of a home loan and/or higher interest rates.

What is CreditIQ?

CreditIQ is a supplemental credit report provided by CoreLogic Credco. This report may be run during the pre-qualification stage of lending. The CoreLogic Credco CreditIQ report combines their traditional merged report from the three large credit bureaus along with CoreLogic Credco’s own proprietary data.  This data gets integrated into existing sections of the standard credit report.

The CreditIQ from CoreLogic Credo may include the following information not usually found on traditional credit reports:

  • Property ownership records
  • Property legal filings
  • Property tax payments
  • Rental applications

  • Evictions
  • Collections
  • Bankruptcies, liens, judgements
  • Child support obligations

For more on what’s included in a CreditIQ report from CoreLogic Credco see their CreditIQ brochure.

Dispute Credco Report Errors

Wether it is a merged credit report or a CreditIQ credit report from CoreLogic Credco, they should be free from errors.

Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), consumer reporting agencies are supposed to make sure that the information they provide is accurate and up-to-date. Because mistakes on these reports are common, the FCRA also gives consumers the right to dispute errors on their reports.

The credit reporting agencies have 30 days to investigate your dispute and make any corrections.
