Hidden Consumer Data

Data brokers have collected numerous types of information about consumers’ behavior that they sell to third parties for marketing purposes. However, it is often difficult for consumers to get access to the information these data brokers keep.

Federal regulators are trying to make it easier for consumers to get this information and to gain more insight into data broker practices.
